Détails
Paper Mill Press brings new life to Anna Sewell's classic with this stunning reprint featuring a suede-like custom cover, beautiful metallic foiling, and a ribbon marker.
Follow the remarkable story of a gentle, hardworking horse named Black Beauty in nineteenth century England. Narrated as an autobiographical memoir told by the titular horse, Black Beauty recounts early life on the farm with his mother and the hardships he later faced as an over-worked cab puller in London. A timeless story of cruelty and kindness that touches on universally relevant themes including courage, sympathy and lifelong friendship.
Anna Sewell (30 March 1820 – 25 April 1878) was an English novelist. She is known as the author of the 1877 novel Black Beauty, her only published work, which is considered one of the top ten best selling novels for children, although the author intended the work for an adult audience. Sewell died only five months after Black Beauty's publication, having lived long enough to see her only novel become a success.
